General Dentistry and Preventative Care

Teeth Cleaning and Prophylaxis

In addition to brushing and flossing, you should schedule regular appointments to have your teeth cleaned by a dentist. This procedure is a routine one and involves the removal of tartar from the teeth. Regular cleanings help prevent tartar build up, cavities, and gum disease.

Comprehensive Oral Exams

If it has been a while since your last dental appointment, come see us for a comprehensive dental exam. Our holistic approach to dentistry means that we perform thorough examinations to identify (and correct) any potential issues before they become problems.

Dental Radiographs

Dental x-rays are used for a variety of purposes including identifying malignant or benign growths, finding cavities, and detecting bone loss. Dental x-rays are important, as they help identify issues that cannot be detected by normal dental examinations.

Drs. Moss, Sang, and Perry use new digital x-ray technology, which allows for an extremely lower radiation exposure resulting in a much healthier visit for our patients"

Oral Cancer Screening

First and foremost, an oral cancer screening DOES NOT mean that you have oral cancer. Oral cancer screenings are done to identify signs of abnormality with the goal of treating any negative findings before they advance. Should anything abnormal be found during the screening, we will often perform a diagnostic test to determine more information.

Diagnostic Impressions

Dental diagnostic impressions are vital so that our dentists can learn more about the shapes and slopes of the mouth as well as the shapes of the teeth. Diagnostic impressions are also vital in helping us plan additional procedures such as dental implants or crown and bridge restoration.

Consultation and Treatment Planning

If we detect any dental issues, we are here to completely guide you through the treatment process including making recommendations about future care/procedures. Our goal is to provide total dental care to our patients, so rest assured that our team of highly experienced dentists is looking out for your best interests.

Cracked Tooth Test

A cracked tooth can be an extremely painful experience, especially if the tooth has cracked to the point of extending into the pulp. We perform cracked tooth tests to get to the root of your pain and make recommendations for treatment based on the results.

Gum Disease Diagnosis

We detect gum disease by performing a comprehensive scan of your mouth to identify signs of illness. Many times symptoms of gum disease include bleeding gums, loose or shifting teeth, and a perpetual bad taste in the mouth. There are many types of gum disease (some more severe than others), so do not waste any time requesting an appointment if you suffer from these symptoms.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is one of the most important minerals for overall tooth health. Sugary foods such as soda and candy attack enamel through a process known as demineralization, while minerals such as fluoride and calcium help build up the enamel. If you are at a higher risk for tooth decay, regular in-office fluoride treatments could be the key to keeping your teeth healthy.

Protective Sealants

If you are at risk for tooth decay, a dental protective sealant could be the cure! Protective sealants (extremely thin plastic) are applied to the grooved sections of the teeth used for chewing. Commonly used for teens and children, protective sealants are applied by a simple procedure and can help prevent tooth decay.

Oral Hygiene Maintenance

We believe that preventative maintenance (brushing, flossing, regular check-ups) is the key to avoiding serious dental issues. We provide our patients with the resources and information they need to make wise decisions about their preventative oral care.

Crown and Bridge Restoration

The purpose of crown and bridge restoration is to replaced decayed, lost, or damaged teeth. Crowns are used to repair/replace single teeth while bridges are often used to replace multiple damaged teeth. Crown and bridge restoration is a great way to improve your smile, so come see us if you're interested in learning more.

Dental Trauma Care

Dental trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and affects people of all ages. Our staff strives to provide outstanding care for those affected by dental trauma. We understand that dental trauma can cause extreme amounts of pain, so if you've experienced a type of dental trauma, please do not wait to call us; we will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.

Nitrous Oxide Gas

We understand that many people have a fear of visiting the dentist (or any doctor for that matter). Our staff has pledged to do its best to make your dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible, however, we utilize nitrous oxide as needed to assist patients during certain procedures.

Baby Tooth Crowns/Caps

Drs. Moss, Sang, and Perry treat patients of all ages, including children. Primary teeth -- often referred to as "baby teeth"-- are vital to a child's physical development as they allow the child to chew food, develop natural speech patterns, and serve as place-holders for permanent teeth. If your child is having dental issues, please contact us to schedule an appointment.

Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is often a necessary procedure to improve/maintain overall dental health. Teeth that are severely damaged have the potential to infect other teeth, so it is sometimes best to simply have the damaged tooth/teeth removed. We usually use anesthetic for this procedure to make the patient as comfortable as possible.
